About

My wife and I have always loved the sand and the sea.  Unfortunately, we live far away from them.  The more we travel, the more we miss them upon return home.

We have decided to ponder about the idea of leaving the everyday rat race.  Just throwing around ideas of our options.  Everything is still up in the air right now, but once decided, it will be full steam ahead.

This blog will serve as our journal, to see where we started and where currently are in our journey. More details to come…..

    Hi guys,

The purchase of your boat (if you decide to buy a boat) is going to have a significant impact on the quality of life while cruising. One of my friends was writing a book about the perfect cruising boat but soon quit when he realized that there is no such thing. Everybody’s taste are different and everybody cruises in a different fashion.

If you overpay now, you will have a very difficult time trying to recover the majority of your money when it is time to sell.

    Just some food for thought.

    Best of luck,

    Conrad

  2. Hi,

My name is Conrad and I stumbled on your website. My wife daughter and I did the same thing you two are about to do a couple of years ago. Wow, it brings back so many memories. What an exciting time that was.

I’ll be following your blog and we wish you two the best of luck.

Here is a link where you can get a free PDF version of my book. It’s about our experiences with quitting our jobs, selling our stuff and sailing away. I think you will see a lot of similarities in what we went through and what you are going through now.

Also, here is a link to our blog if you’re interested. The book covers the same thing but the blog has more detail and lots of pictures.

Take care, keep the dream alive and it is normal to be absolutely scared out of your mind before you make the leap to cruising. We certainly were.
